Three rare and stellar sessions, highlighted by the August, 1944, network radio debut of the famed Band That Swings With Strings. From three months before are the legendary first Krupa Trio recordings, when the trio consisted of Gene, Buddy DeFranco and Dodo Marmarosa. Finally, two great trio numbers from June of 1945 for V-Discs, when George Walters briefly subbed for Teddy Napoleon on piano, along with Charlie Ventura and Gene. Fidelity on this great CD is quite impressive for the time.
