More than 40 years ago, the long-defunct MGM Records label issued an unbelievable, three-LP set of live performance recordings of the 1937-1938 Benny Goodman Band. To this day, these ides represent among the finest examples of Gene Krupa's playing with Goodman. Now condensed into one CD (the only omitted sides were a few ballads and some tracks that didn't feature Gene), these 26 tunes by the band, trio and quartet showcase the definitive, hot drumming of the ace drummer man with the one and only King of Swing.
