For those who just had to see this 1948 rarity from Monogram Pictures in its entirety, here it is. A surprisingly decent print from the Bob Bierman collection, this charming little opus, also known as "The Old Grey Mayor" (for reasons you'll discover) stars young Freddie Stewart, Noel (Lois Lane) Neil and the gang. A great bonus clip is a 1971 ABC-TV news report on the success of big band nostalgia. There's a neat little interview with Gene Krupa in his Yonkers basement, playing drums, intercut with scenes from Carnegie Hall, etc.
