Tony Williams' incredible solos and technique were best displayed during his fusion period, whether with his own groups or guesting with others. While examples abound on audio, there's little of the "fusion Tony" available on video or DVD. This is the one! Though some date this as 1972, it looks more like early-to-mid 1980s. The recording, live at the Montreal Jazz Festival, features Tony, Jan Hammer on keyboards, Jordan Rudes on keyboards and Fernando Saunders on bass. Audio is great. Video is "very watchable/good." This is not a state-of-the-art video picture but the music is absolutely incredible.
